Is the 2017 Festival season suitable for children?
Children age 6 and above are welcome to attend our performances; no children under age 6 please. For children six and older, please familiarize yourself with the plays before ordering tickets.

While SCS’s summer festival plays are not specifically geared towards children, we do strive to be a theatre that welcomes younger audiences. The plays generally run between two and three hours in length, and you are the best judge of your children’s ability to enjoy each play.

Measure for Measure will be most appropriate for well-prepared middle and high school students who are able to handle the bawdiness of a brothel and adult themes of sex, the politics of sexuality, and the body.

Candide is suitable for well-prepared high school students who are able to handle themes of violence and sexuality. Please use your discretion when purchasing youth tickets for this production..

For The Two Gentlemen of Verona, we offer a free groundling youth ticket (ages 6-18) with each purchase of an adult groundling ticket. With some preparation, this bright, energetic comedy is suitable for the entire family.

What are the “All-Ages Matinees?”
This year, we are offering three matinees that are for patrons that wish to bring any family member of any age. All patrons, regardless of age, need a ticket. However, do note that we do not change artistic content for these productions. You are the best judge of what is appropriate for your children and use your discretion.
