SANTA CRUZ SHAKESPEARE 2017 45 The Acting INTERNS Joshua Orlando (Ensemble, Candide; Outlaw, Ensemble, The Two Gentlemen of Verona) is a recent graduate of UC Santa Cruz. After completing an undergraduate degree in political theory, Josh received a Master of Arts in Theater Arts concentrating on performance and gender studies. Interested in the ways that gender is politicized both on and off the stage, Josh believes that theater can mobilize people to take action and generate resistance to structural oppression in our communities. Malena Pennycook (Ensemble, Candide; Ensemble, The Two Gentlemen of Verona) is thrilled to be joining SCS for the first time. Recent credits include: Two Gentlemen of Verona, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V (Shakespeare in the Square); Clown Phases (The Brick); Sing Like a Man (Dixon Place); Oedipus on the Beach, The Love of Don Perlimplin, Dogs Chase Shadows (NYU Experimental Theatre Wing).
