Bushfield (Properties Designer, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet) has been the summer festival’s Props Master/Designer for SSC/SCS since 2008 and for 8 of SSC’s fall productions. She also provides all of the blood tech work for the festival, including last season’s Macbeth, and created many special effects like the raw eggs in Twelfth Night as well as The Fairy Godmother’s Wand in Cinderella and Pitty-Poo the puppet in Gretel and Hansel. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee and spends her time multi-tasking as an actress, director, costumer, and playwright. She was also the Interim Marketing Director/Public Relations Manager for SSC in 2012/2013 and the Production Manager for 2015. Christina Dinkel (Costume Designer, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) is a San Francisco-based costume designer and educator. Christina collaborated with SSC for many seasons, and she is so thrilled to be back in Santa Cruz designing the first show to set stage in the new Grove! Some of her most noted works include the costume styling for Annie Sprinkle & Beth Stephen’s Ecosexuals Unite, premiering at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the world premiere of Hookman with Encore Theatre Company at Z Space; and the world premiere of Tree City Legends which toured twice at the National Performance Network. He has designed scenery and/or lighting on 98 productions for San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre. Mr. Dorsey also has designed for most of the major resident theatre companies in the country. Ariane Helou (Textual Consultant; Dramaturg, Hamlet) is thrilled to be returning to Santa Cruz Shakespeare this season! Previously at SCS/SSC: dramaturg, The Liar, The Mandrake, Twelfth Night; foreign language consultant, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Henry V, The Man in the Iron Mask. Ariane is a scholar of Renaissance literature and performance histories, a musician, and a translator of poetry and drama. She holds a PhD in Literature from UCSC, where she also taught theater history and Romance languages, and has been awarded an Ahmanson-Getty Postdoctoral Fellowship (UCLA) for 2016-17. B. Modern (Costume Designer, Hamlet) has designed  costumes and served as Associate Artist for over 50 productions and 28 seasons at Shakespeare Santa Cruz. She is delighted to continue this creative relationship with Santa Cruz Shakespeare for the third season, in our new home at The Grove. Recent productions with SCS include Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
