The last two years have been a great success, and this year, we’re offering more value by adding another day to the trip so you can see more plays! The trip is scheduled from Tuesday, March 28 though Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Our custom tour is designed to bring you and fellow theater enthusiasts together to enjoy the rich history and cultural tradition of another world-class Shakespeare festival in Ashland, Oregon.  The tour includes:

  • Round trip transportation from Santa Cruz to Ashland aboard a luxury coach

Itinerary Snapshot


Day 1: Depart Santa Cruz, California | Arrive Ashland, Oregon | 6PM Welcome Reception

Morning:         Depart aboard a private coach to travel to Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Lunch:              Granzella’s Restaurant & Deli. Coffee break and rest stop en route.

Evening:          Arrive at Anne Hathaway’s Bed and Breakfast and Garden Suites for check-in.

Anne Hathaway’s is a traditional B&B with seven rooms, each with a private bath. The Garden Suites offers rooms with separate entrances, kitchenettes, and private baths.

Evening:          Welcome reception with special guests and overview of tour activities.


Day 2: Julius Caesar at 1:30PM | Shakespeare in Love at 8PM

Morning:         Breakfast provided at Anne Hathaway’s. Salon with Mike Ryan and Michael Warren.

Prepare for Julius Caesar, one of Shakespeare’s most political treatises on power, governance, and culpability.

Afternoon:      Julius Caesar

Evening:          Shakespeare in Love

Attendees are welcome to share in an informal discussion prior to the play: what are your thoughts on the trend of movies adapted as musicals? Mike Ryan will also share thoughts on working with Tom Stoppard, one of the original screenwriters for the film.


Day 3: Tour of OSF’s Technical Production Facility| Henry IV, Part One at 8PM

Morning:         Breakfast provided at Anne Hathaway’s. Bus departs for Talent, OR

Noon:                Behind the Scenes tour of OSF’s Technical Production Facility.

Afternoon:      Bus departs for return to Ashland, OR. Salon with Mike Ryan and Michael Warren.

Discuss the historical background of Henry IV and its place in the tetralogy as well as comparisons to other productions you may have seen.

FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 2017

Day 4: Hannah at 1:30PM | SCS Dinner Party at 5:30PM | Mojada at 8PM

Morning:         Breakfast provided at Anne Hathaway’s. Salon with Mike Ryan and Michael Warren.

A refresher on Euripides’ classical tale of the story of Medea and how the character has evolved and adapted over the theatrical centuries.

Backstage Tour of OSF at 10AM.

Afternoon:      Hannah and the Dread Gazebo

Evening:          SCS Dinner Party

                            Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles


Day 5: Final Day | Departure | Arrival in Santa Cruz, CA

Morning:         Breakfast provided at Anne Hathaway’s. Departure by 10AM

Lunch:              Olive Pit. Additional coffee break and rest stop en route.

Evening:          Arrival in Santa Cruz, California
