Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s Artistic Director, Mike Ryan, and costume designer of this season’s Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth, B Modern, gave a sneak peak of the 2015 Summer Festival to an enthusiastic crowd at Bookshop Santa Cruz on Monday, June 1.
Ryan showed the model of the set (designed by Nina Ball) that will be used for all of the outdoor productions (at the Sinsheimer-Stanley Festival Glen), discussed his decision to make the acting company gender equitable, and talked about Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s mission to be an integrated and valued part of the Santa Cruz Community with events like Weekend with Shakespeare, among other things about the 2015 Festival.
Santa Cruz artist and designer B. Modern shared sketches of her costume designs for ‘Beatrice’ and ‘Lady Macbeth’ and other characters from Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth.
