Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s Student Matinee Week
Bring your students to a rousing performance of a Shakespeare play, and experience the magic that happens in live theatre! The 2020 Student Matinee Play will be announced in December 2019.
Our third annual Student Matinee Week will be during the first week of September 2020. During the final week of our season, a professional production of one of Shakespeare’s plays will remain open for five student-only matinee performances. These 10am matinees are for students and their chaperones only, and include a post-show discussion with the actors after each performance. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every single high school student in the Santa Cruz County has seen a live, professional production of one of Shakespeare’s plays by the time they graduate!
Thank you to everyone who made the 2019 Student Matinee Week a success! We were able to offer over 1,700 tickets to students and teachers to see a live theatre performance of The Comedy of Errors from all over the Bay Area.
